In one of his sermons, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Folorunsho Williams Kumuyi, has insisted that only God will select a successor after him in His time.
He used the selection of Abraham, Joshua, after Moses, as typical examples to buttress his position.
Pastor Kumuyi was responding to a preaching by a younger Pastor in the Church who previously requested a
successor after him, should, in case he’s no longer capable of leading or if he eventually calls to glory.
He stressed that there’s no need for such a request because at his age, saying he is still very energetic and strong, as his trips to nations all over the world indicate.
The 84-year-old octogenarian, emphatically said he would reject persuasions to change his convictions about the church, adding that at his age, he’s not tired of leading and any attempt by anybody to raise the issue would be resisted.
Some Church leaders in other denominations on condition of anonymity, responded to The 84-year cleric comments, saying he is still very strong in the Lord, and that the call for anybody to succeed him now was premature.
On the same note, others insisted that the church should have a chosen successor on stand-by in case of incapacitation or death.
